Savory cubed steak with a thick rich low fat gravy. Savory cubed steak with a thick rich low fat gravy.
Number of Servings: 6


    16 oz cube steak
    1 Tbsp olive oil
    1 large onion
    3 cloves garlic
    1 tsp thyme
    1 sm can mushrooms
    2 tbsp white flour
    2 cups beef broth or stock
    2 oz red wine
    salt and pepper to taste


Salt and pepper steak as desired. Brown steak in half of oil set aside on plate (2-3 minutes per side.) Add remaining oil and onions, garlic, mushrooom, and thyme. When onions are soft and browned add flour and cook several minutes until no white remains. Add broth and wine. Add steak back to onion gravy and cook over low approximately 20 minutes. Serves 6
