Introduction

Delicious, low fat butter beans. It's all in the seasoning! Delicious, low fat butter beans. It's all in the seasoning!
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 - 16oz package of dried large lima beans also known as butter beans
    12 cups of tap water
    3 Tbs of margarine
    2 tsp Season All
    1 Tbs of garlic powder
    1 Tbs of ground ginger
    1 tsp of sage
    1 tsp of basil



Directions

Rinse the beans and put in crock pot., Add 12 cups of water and put on high on slow cooker. After it cooks for about an hour, add seasonings and margarine. Leave on high until beans are very tender and water has thickened some. They are delicious without added calories, fat and sodium from having been cooked with ham.

Makes 12 1-cup servings. Can be served with cornbread or used as a side dish with chicken and/or other vegetables.
