Number of Servings: 6


    2 lbs lean pork cut in 1" cubes*
    1 Tbsp minced garlic
    1 Tbsp minced ginger
    1 Tbsp Veg Oil
    ¼ tsp “Gourmet Powder” (aka MSG) (optional)
    3 to 4 Tbsp dark soy sauce**
    1 Tbsp sugar
    ¼ tsp Five spice powder
    1 tsp cooking wine
    1 Tbsp tapioca starch (or cornstarch)
    *Any boneless pork will do, even boned pork chops
    ** Dark soy sauce is less salty than regular.
    drops sesame oil (optional)


Heat up wok and add 2 Tbsp oil until smoke begins to rise. Put in ginger and garlic to brown for 30 seconds, stirring. Add pork, dark

soy sauce, Five spice powder, cooking wine, sesame oil, gourmet powder and sugar. Stir fry for two minutes, then add ½ cup water

and cook, covered, over medium heat for 30 minutes.

When done, dissolve starch in ¼ cup of water. Add to pork to cook for a minute. Serve over boiled rice.

Garnish with chopped green onions (optional).
