Introduction

A soft bakery style bread - great for sandwiches! A soft bakery style bread - great for sandwiches!
Number of Servings: 40

Ingredients

    Step 1
    2 C boiling water
    1/3 C brown sugar
    1/2 C yellow cornmeal
    Whisk together

    Step 2
    1/2 C canola oil
    Let mixture cool to room temp

    Step 3
    2 Tbsp yeast
    1/2 cup warm water
    Dissolve yeast in water and add to wet mix - let stand for 5 min

    Step 4
    1/2 C dark rye flour
    mix well
    2 3/4 C whole wheat flour
    2 C white flour

    Step 5
    Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
    Let rise in oiled bowl until double then punch down and knead for 3 minutes.
    Form into loaves and let rise till double in size.

Directions

Bake @ 375 F for 25-30 minutes.
