Introduction

Found this recipe in an original Bragg's cookbook - I don't use Bragg's in the recipe though - I use this without onions when I need meat crumbles. This recipe can be flavored to tailor any taste, just leave the sage, garlic and onions out . This recipe can be flavored to tailor any taste, just leave the sage, garlic and onions out .
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    2 eggs (1/2 c substitute)
    1/2 c ground walnuts
    1 c oatmeal, uncooked
    3 T water
    2 T olive oil
    1/2 c onions, minced
    1/2 t sage
    1 clove garlic, pressed

Directions

Combine eggs, walnuts, uncooked oatmeal, water, onion, sage, and garlic. Stir and blend well.
For Patties: form into patties, brown on both sides in olive oil, add extra water then cover skillet and simmer until liquid is almost evaporated. Should make 6 small patties.
For Crumbles: mix olive oil with other ingredients, pour mixture into skillet on med-high heat and brown like you would hamburger until just moist but not dry.
