1 pound each of ground pork and italian sausage
    1 can mushrooms, drained
    4 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp basil and parsley (to taste), chopped
    9 lasagna noodles
    16 oz cottage cheese
    16 oz mozzarella cheese
    1 jar spaghetti sauce

Prepare each of the layers before assembling.
Layer one: in a skillet, fry the pork and italian sausage. Drain grease. Add chopped garlic, a drained can of mushrooms, and the spaghetti sauce. Set aside.
Layer two: in a bowl, mix together the cottage cheese (drained) with a handful of the mozzarella, half the chopped garlic, and the chopped herbs. Set aside.
Layer three: the pasta. Boil until done, then drain/dry on a dish towel.
To assemble, layer three pieces of lasagna in the bottom of the pan. Spread part of the cheese mixture over them. Spread part of the meat mixture on top of that. Sprinkle a few handfuls of the mozzarella. Then start over with the layers until all is used. Save back extra mozzarella for the top.
Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. Baking is really just needed to meld the flavors and brown the cheese because everything is already cooked prior to baking.
