Ingredients

    3 Cups Turnips, peeled and cubed
    1 Cup 1% Milk, warmed
    2 Tbs Butter, Room Temp
    1/4 Cup Scallions, Chopped
    1Tbs + 2 tsp Salt, divided
    1 tsp Pepper
    1 tsp Garlic Powder

Directions

Place turnips in a 2 quart saucepan, cover with water, and add 1 Tbs salt. Cover and boil until soft, 10-15 minutes. Drain. Put turnips in large bowl. Add butter and half of the warm milk and whip using a hand mixer on medium speed. Add seasonings and scallions. Continue to add milk, 1 Tbs at a time. Whip on high until smooth. Keep warm in 200 degree oven until ready to serve.
