Pan seared Green Beans for a side dish in a hurry. Pan seared Green Beans for a side dish in a hurry.
Number of Servings: 4


    200 grams Frozen Green Beans ( can be whole, cut or juliean style). DO NOT THAW
    2 teaspoons minced garlic ( I like the prepared garlic in a jar for speed and convenience)
    1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil (just enough to slide garlic in)
    Dash of fresh ground pepper (to taste)
    Dash of Sea Salt to taste ( optional )


Prep: Pull ingredients together, weigh, measure and have ready to use, this is a super simple and quick dish (depending on how organized your kitchen prep will take 1 to 5 minutes)

Ready ...Cook:
1. In a Non-Stick frying pan (10 inch or larger is easier to work in) on Medium heat add Olive Oil.
2. When hot, about 1 to 2 minutes add garlic and Pepper, heat till fragrant, about 30 to 45 seconds.
3. Add Frozen Green Beans, stirr or "Toss" in pan to coat with garlic and pepper. Put lid on and Saute until tender and keep an eye on so they don't get over cooked. about 3 minutes should do it.
4. Divide into 4 servings and enjoy!
I am at high altitude so my cooking times are approximate. I mostly go by color and texture. When the beans are a nice green just past the "Bright Green" stage they will be tender crisp. A bit longer and they look dark green and have a bit of caramelization, the "brown bits" and are very tender.
Also keep and eye on the garlic... golden brown is good, dark brown or coffee color is bad - (garlic is bitter and yucky when burned!)
