Introduction
A healthy version of my mom's family favorite Shepherd's pie. A healthy version of my mom's family favorite Shepherd's pie.Number of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
1 pound 93% fat free Turkey
1 cup chopped onion
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons garlic
1 (16-ounce) can green beans
1 (8-ounce) Philadelphia Fat Free Cream Cheese
4 1/2 ounces potato flakes
2 1/2 cups hot water
salt & pepper to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Brown onions and turkey, add Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and green beans, gently combine.
In a medium bowl, soften cream cheese with a sturdy spoon. Add potato flakes and hot water to cream cheese, salt and pepper to taste, and combine.
Arrange meat mixture evenly in a 8x8 inch baking dish. Evenly spread potato mixture over meat mixture. Bake for 30 minutes.
Optional: Brush one lightly beaten egg over potato mixture before baking. This will give a nice browning. And doesn't take a whole egg...if brushed lightly over top it is less then 1/4 of a egg, divided by 6 servings, will only add about 3 calories per a serving at most.
