    1 lb. ground beef
    2 tbsp onion powder
1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
    1 package taco seasoning
    6 slices American cheese
1 can Pillsbury reduced fat crescent rolls

Brown meat with onion powder in a skillet, stirring often to crumble.

When meat is brown, drain off all grease.

Add tomato sauce and seasoning mix.

Mix well and simmer for five minutes.

Press half the crescents (4) out into the bottom of an 8x8 pan sprayed with cooking spray.

Spoon meat mixture over crescents and top with cheese slices.

Press the remainder of the crescents over the cheese and meat.

Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until crescents are golden brown.

Makes 8 1-inch pieces.

  • The whole family likes this. It's similar to another recipe I make ... so nice to have variety. My only complaint is in the calorie and sodium count. 1/8th of an 8x8 pan is a very small portion size. :( But the taste was delicious! - 4/1/09
