    1 large onion, chopped
    6 cloves garlic, minced
    1 (15.5 oz) can of Goya black beans, rinsed
    1 cup long grain white rice
    2 to 2-1/2 cups vegetable broth
    1 tsp each: garlic powder, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, turmeric


Saute onion, garlic, and spices in 1 tbsp vegetable broth. Add rice and 2 cups broth. Let simmer on low for 30-40 minutes until rice is cooked. Add black beans and heat through.

Serves 4-6.
