An easy pound cake made finer with marzipan (aka almond paste.) Very rich and delicious! An easy pound cake made finer with marzipan (aka almond paste.) Very rich and delicious!
Number of Servings: 16


    250 g butter
    100 g marzipan (almond paste)
    150 g sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract (or a packet of vanilla sugar)
    a pinch of salt
    4 eggs
    175 flour
    2 tsp baking powder


Marzipan Cake with browned butter.

Melt and brown the butter, let cool. Cut the marzipan into small pieces and add to the butter. Mix the marzipan and butter with the sugar, vanilla, sugar and salt. Beat until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time and beat after each addition.

Combine the flour and baking powder, fold into the butter mixture and mix thoroly.

Pour the batter into a well-greased 30 cm loaf pan. Bake at 325 for about one hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool completely on a rack.
