Number of Servings: 8


    400g tinned chickpeas
    1 large clove of garlic
    1 tbsp Tahini
    Salt and Pepper
    Juice of Half a Lemon
    4 tbsp Extra Light Olive Oil
    0.5 cup plain yoghurt
    2tbsp Fresh Coriander (stalks and leaves)


Take all of the listed ingredients (except yoghurt) and place in a food processor (or in a bowl with a hand blender) and blend till smooth. Add the yoghurt to bring to the preferred consistency

This serves 8

You can leave the lemon out and add water instead or you can increase the lemony taste and add the juice of a whole lemon and leave the water out. You can also substitute some of the chickpeas with other ingredients to change things from time to time - like cooked beetroot or roasted peppers. You can add herbs like fresh coriander (celantro) or parsely for variation too. If you want, you could also use beans instead of chickpeas (preferably butter beans)
