Introduction

These are delicious - from the Time-Life series of cookbooks. I used to make them all the time as a kid, and I still crave them! Hard not to eat the entire pan! Ingredients

    4 Tbsp butter, melted
    1 cup light brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 cup flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt

Directions

Beat butter and sugar well.
Add egg and vanilla, beat well.
Sift dries together, then add to butter.
Butter pan (8" square).
Bake at 350 for 20 min, knife test.

Easy and delicious! Makes 12 2 x 3 pieces @129 calories per bar (but can be cut into 16 - would be 97 calories per bar).
You can also add nuts or chocolate chips.
