These were from an old Lowfat Applesauce cookbook my mom has. These were from an old Lowfat Applesauce cookbook my mom has.
Number of Servings: 12


    2 cups flour
    1 cup oats
    1/3 cup sugar
    2 Tablespoons baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    3/4 cup applesauce, unsweetened, divided
    2 Tablespoons margarine or canola oil
    1/2 cup chopped cranberries (craisins)
    1/2 cuppeeled, chopped apple
    1/4 cup milk
    1/4 cup honey, plus 2 Tablespoons, divided


Reheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray cookie sheet with non stick spray. Combine all dry ingredients, cut in cup applesauce and margarine until resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cranberries, apple. Combine milk, cup honey in small bowl. Add liquid to dry and stir together until forms ball. Knead on flour surface 10 to 12 times. Pat dough into 8 circle on baking sheet. Score dough into twelve wedges. In small combine remaining applesauce and 2 T. honey. Brush top of dough. Bake 12-15 min until lightly brown. Immediately remove from baking sheet, cool on rack for 10 min and serve warm. Cut into 12 servings.
