Introduction
Great thin crust pizza to use up sourdough starter! Great thin crust pizza to use up sourdough starter!Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
1.5 Cup Fed Sourdough Starter
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Cup King Arthur Italian-Style Flour
3/4 Cup King Arthur White Whole Wheat Flour
Directions
Makes 4 12-in Pizzas
In a stand mixer with a dough hook (or by hand if you're strong), Mix sourdough starter, olive oil, and salt.
In a separate bowl, mix the italian-style and white whole wheat flours and gradually add to sourdough starter mixture until a soft dough if formed.
Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 4 pieces. (At this point, you can freeze the "raw" dough for future use, or you can also freeze pre-baked shells by rolling out the dough and baking for 5 minutes, let cool, and freeze.)
Let dough rest for 15 minutes before rolling out on a floured surface.
Top with your favorite pizza toppings and bake in a 450 degree oven for 15-25 minutes depending on the toppings.
I bake my pizza on a stone, but if you are going to use a pan, place dough in pan before topping.
