    Onions, raw, 2 medium (2-1/2" dia)
    Bacon grease, 2 tsp
    Bacon, 1 unit, cooked (yield from 1 lb raw

Slice squash into medium slices, peeel and chop onion, cook 2 strips of bacon and retain 2 tablespoons of grease. drain bacon strips and set aside, add squash and onions and cook until both are tender. Crumble bacon and stir in. Salt and pepper to taste.
