Introduction

An easy twist on a family favorite! Substitute rotini or shells for the macaroni. You can also add veggies ~ mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli....lots of variations! An easy twist on a family favorite! Ingredients

    16 oz. whole wheat macaroni
    2 - 6oz cans tomato paste
    12 oz. water
    1 T. oregano
    1/2 T. basil
    1 t. garlic powder
    1 t. onion powder
    1/4 t. pepper
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    2 T. parmesan cheese
    24 oz. cottage cheese, 1%
    6 oz. shredded mozzarella, 2%

Directions

1. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain.
2. Meanwhile combine tomato sauce, water, spices, and parmesan cheese and simmer over stove while macaroni cooks.
3. In deep 13x9 pan or lasagna pan, layer as follows: 1/2 sauce, all the macaroni, all the cottage cheese, the rest of the sauce, top with mozzarella.
4. Bake at 350 for 30 min.
