Introduction
I like to make things by the "vat." This way, I can portion it out for later meals or for storing in my freezer. I also used too much taco seasoning,by mistake, but I liked the way it turned out. Feel free to cut it back to your tastes. I like to make things by the "vat." This way, I can portion it out for later meals or for storing in my freezer. Ingredients
-
20 oz. lean ground turkey
6 tbs taco seasoning
1 cup water
12 oz No Yolk Egg noodles, wide
8 oz. package of 1/3 less fat cream cheese, cubed
1 cup skim milk
1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
Directions
Set oven to 350
Saute ground Turkey until it is completely cooked. Drain and rinse with hot water. Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer until all but a couple of tablespoons of liquid remains. Leaving a little juice adds to the flavors later on. Set aside
Cook pasta until al dente. while the pasta is cooking combine cream cheese, milk and cayenne in sauce pan over medium low heat, stirring frequently. Do not boil!
Drain pasta and pour turkey and juice over past. Toss and let it sit for five minutes, as pasta will absorb the fluids.
Fold in the cheese sauce, then pour it into 9" by 11" glass dish. I didn't spray mine with anything first, so that is not reflected in the nutrition count. Cook for 03-35 minutes until topping is golden.
