Directions
let me begin by saying, the original recipe includes 2 eggs beaten, and soft bread crumbs instead of the egg whites and wheat germ .also instead of 2lb of ground turkey breast, the original recipe calls for 1pound italian turkey sausage and 1 pound ground turkey.
i just modified it to make it healthier. this is my version. most people would probably like the original but this is a LEANER version.
preheat oven to 350 degrees.heat olive oil in large skillet and cook onions and garlic until tender. remove to large bowl.add thawed and drained spinach, wheat germ, cheese, egg whites, basil, pepper.
mix well.
bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 min, or until internal temperature registers 170 degrees. let stand, covered, for 15 min before slicing. 8-10 servings
