    3 cups cooked turkey, dark meat
    6 Tbsp smart balance buttery spread
    1/3 cup flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/8 tsp ground black pepper
    1/4 tsp thyme leaves (dry)
    1 can (14oz or 1 3/4 c) Swanson fat free low sodium chicken broth
    1 cup skim milk
    1 chicken bouillon cube (or 1 tsp granules)
    2 Tbsp. cooking sherry


In a medium saucepan, melt the smart balance spread. Stir in the flour, salt, pepper, and thyme. Heat until bubbly. Gradually stir in chicken broth, milk, bouillon cube and sherry. Heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Add the turkey; simmer until heated through and flavors have blended, about 15 minutes. This recipe makes 5 cups of newburg = 10 (1/2 cup servings). Serve over 2 split popovers.
