Great cook out burger. Good to make ahead and freeze in portions. Great cook out burger. Good to make ahead and freeze in portions.
Number of Servings: 12

2 20 oz pkg lean ground turkey
    1 med onion, chopped fine
    1 bunch fresh cilantro chopped.
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
    1 tbs ground cumin
4 tbs low sodium soy sauce
    1 egg
    1 egg white

Beat egg and white in large bowl. Beat in seasonings, cilantro, onion and soy sauce. Mix in turkey and beans until well blended.
Form into 12 even patties.
These can be frozen at this point with layers of parchment or waxed paper between them.
Burgers can be grilled, broiled or pan fried. Just be sure that meat is cooked through. I use a meat thermometer to be sure of doneness.
I serve them with whole wheat buns. Often open faced on 1/2 of the bun, topped with your favorite salsa. Or skip the bun and have over salad. Or cut up and roll up in a tortilla wiht salad and some light cheese. Anything you like to do with a burger!
Serves 12.
