Introduction

I did not include condiments or your choice of buns as everyone's preferences are different. Adding a small slice of cheese, tomato and lettuce takes this burger to the next level. Ingredients

    1 lb lean ground beef
    1 cup rolled oats
    1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
    1 egg
    1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
    1/2 teaspoon thyme
    1 teaspoon oregano
    1/2 teaspoon basil
    dash cayenne pepper (optional)
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    2 mushrooms, finely chopped
    2 tablespoons ketchup

Directions

Makes 8 burgers, approximately 3&1/4oz each.
Mix the rolled oats, dry mustard, thyme, oregano, basil, & cayenne pepper in a large bowl. Add the ground beef, egg, worcestershire sauce & ketchup. Saute the onion, garlic and mushroom just until soft. Add to the ground beef mixture. Mix well. Form into 3&1/4 oz patties and fry on a non-stick grill, using no oil.
