Ingredients

Ingredients:
Garlic, 6 cloves
Quaker Old Fashioned Quaker Oats half cup dry, 1.50 cup
Eden Organic Black Beans no salt added, 5.10 cup
Jalapeno Pepper, 81 gram
Bell Pepper, Red, 1 large raw, 373 gram
Bell Pepper, Green, 1 large raw, 250 gram
Red Onions, raw, 479 gram
Oregano, ground, 2 tsp
Cayenne Pepper, 2 tsp
Cumin, 0.50 tbsp
Directions
*** Remove seeds of the Jalapeno
Making the patties. Once your veggies are chopped, saute them until they are a bit soft, but not browned at all. Just a few minutes should do the trick. I use pam spray instead of oil for sauteing.
Cook the beans according to the directions on the package. If you are using dry beans, you’ll want to soak them overnight so plan for that.
Once your beans are cooked, add quaker oats and using a masher or large spoon, mash up the beans and oats. I wouldn’t use a food processor for these because you run the risk of over-processing the beans. You want them to still have plenty of texture, but just broken up a bit.
Mix in your sauteed veggies and all your other spices. Feel free to adjust the spices if you want the patties even spicier.
Then form about 2 ounce patties with the mixture. You should be able to get about 75 patties out of the mixture. To finish these guys off, cook them in a few tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes a side. These will give the burgers a good crust on the outside and heat them up all the way through. Sprinkled some more spices (cayenne pepper and cumin) on each patty before frying them up.

Basically a good idea but the ingredient amounts are very confusing! Also the oil has not been added into the calorie count. I think the calorie count and servings have been posted wrong also. Could you recheck and edit it so I can try it out please! Thank-you muchly. - 8/14/09

You are right that I did not include oil in calorie count, but that's because I use pam spray. I wrote the oil, becuase usually people use that to saute.
Not sure why the ingredients are confusing to you??? Maybe because I use a scale to weigh my vegetables? Use a converter to help you.
