Good for a brunch or as a dessert

Number of Servings: 6


    1 cup flour
    3 tbsp sugar
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 cup 1% milk
    1 tbsp butter, melted
    1 tbsp oil
    2 cups blackberries
    1/4 syrup (maple, pancake, or berry)
    1 tbsp lemon juice


Mix flour, sugar, baking podwer, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, combine milk, butter, and oil. Stir into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Combine blackerries, syrup, and lemon juice in a medium skillet. Stir gently; cover and bring to a strong simmer.

Drop the dumpling batter by spoonfuls over the berries. Cover skillet and cook over medium-low heat for 15 minutes, or until dumpling are firm. Serve warm.
