    3 - 3 1/2 pounds country-style pork ribs
    1/4 c. water
    1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    1/3 c. packed brown sugar
    2 T prepared mustard
    1/8 t. hot pepper sauce
    2 cans (16 oz each) kidney beans, rinsed & drained
    2 cans (16 oz each) great northern beans, rinsed & drained
    1 1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
    1 sweet red pepper, thinly sliced


Put ribs in an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan, add water. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Drain, reserving liquid; skim fat. Set ribs aside. Add enough water to liquid to measure 1 cup; place in a saucepan. Add tomato sauce, soup mix, sugar, mustard and hot pepper sauce. Simmer 10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup. Add beans, celery and red pepper to remaining sauce. Pour into the baking pan; add ribs. Pour reserved sauce over ribs. Cover and bake for 45 minutes or until meat is tender. Yield: 6-8 servings (1-1 1/2 cups each).
