    1 cup walnut pieces
    1 1/2 cups packed (pre-washed) basil leaves (approx. 2 oz)
    2 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese (kraft)
    2 tsp freshly chopped garlic
    1 cup Extra virgin olive oil
    1 1/4 tsp salt


Toast the walnuts in a 350' oven until golden brown, not burnt.
Measure the basil leaves by packing into a 1 cup measuring cup, or by weighing on a scale. They should equal 1 1/2 cups measured or approximately 2 oz. weighed. Rinse the basil with water and remove excess water using either paper towels or a salad spinner.
Put the walnuts, basil, parmesan cheese, garlic, olive oil , and salt into the blender and puree until smooth. Enjoy over your favorite pasta or burshed on chicken breasts before grilling. This recipe yields approximately 16 oz of sauce. 1 Tbsp serving will cover 1 cup of penne or other pasta.
