    1/4c all purpose flour
    1/8 tsp black pepper
    2c 1% milk
    6 medium potatoes, sliced 1/4 inch(6mm) thick
    1 large onion, thinly sliced


stir flour and pepper together in sauce pan. Mix in milk gradually until no lumps remain. Heat and stir until it boils and thickens. Remove from heat.

Place 1/2 potatoes and 1/2 onion in 2 quart(2L) casserole. Pour 1/2 the sauce over it. Repeat. Cover. bake at 350F for about 11/2 hrs or until potatoes are tender. Remove cover to brown for a few min. if desired. Makes 6 servings.
