    2 1/2 tsp yeast
    1/2 cup warm water (105 to 115)
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 teaspoons salt
    2 cups whole grain flour
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 cup pumpkin


Dissolve yeast and sugar in 1/2 cup warm water. In large mixing bowl, combine salt, cinnamon, pumpkin and flour. Add yeast mixture. Beat until smooth, adding a little more water, if necessary.

Knead dough in mixer for 10 minutes. Cover; let rise in warm place until double, about 50 minutes.

Punch down dough; divide into 8 equal parts. Shape each part into a smooth ball; punch hole in center and pull gently to enlarge hole and make uniform shape. Let rise 20 minutes. Heat oven to 375.

Heat 2 quarts water to boiling in large, deep saucepan. Reduce heat; add 4 bagels. Simmer 7 minutes, turning half way through. Drain on paper towel. Repeat with remaining bagels, simmering 4 at a time. Bake on greased baking sheet until bagels are golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes; cool.
