Number of Servings: 24


    * Oats, 2 cup
    * Maple Syrup, .25 cup
    * Cinnamon, ground, 1 tsp
    * *Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup
    * Salt, .5 tsp
    * Egg, fresh, 1 large
    * Applesauce, unsweetened,
    * Vanilla Extract, 2 tsp
    * Almonds, .5 cup, chopped


Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C). Grease a 9x13" baking pan, orline with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, mix together dry intredients. Make a well in the center, and add liquid ingredients. Mix well. Pat the mixture into the baking pan.

Bake 30-35 minutes, until bars begin to turn golden at the edges. Cool for a few minutes, then cut into bars while still warm. Cut to fit snack bags for individual storage, or store in a cooke jar.

    I just finished making these. I added 1 cup of apple sauce as I found on a similar recipe.

    They were still soft after 20 minutes, but held their shape. So I took them out of the pan and cut them on a baking sheet and stuck them back in the oven for about 20 more minutes.

    Sorry the quantity didn't show up for the apple sauce. It should be 1/2 cup, actually. Good idea to cut them while soft, then put back in oven to make them more crisp. If people like sweeter bars, adding Splenda to taste could do the job. Thanks for your comment!
