    2 tbsp sugar
    2 tsp salt
    2 packages of yeast or 4 1/2 tsp
    2 cups milk
    2 tbsp butter
    5 cups flour


In a large bowl combine sugar, salt, yest, and 2 cups of flour.
In med bowl microwave milk and butter, until very warm, (between 120- 130 degrees).
With mixer at low speed, gradually beat liquid into dry ingredients until just blended. Increase speed to med, and beat about 2 minutes.
Beat in 3/4 cup flour or enough to make thick batter. Cotinue beating for 2 minutes, scraping bowl often.
With spoon stir in enough flour (about 3 cups) to make a soft dough.
On floured surface kneed dough untill smooth and elsatic, about 10 minutes. Shape into a ball.
Turn over in a greased bowl to grease top. Cover. Let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch down dough. Cover and let rise again until doubled, about 30 minutes. Cut in half.
Round up and let rest 10 minutes. Shape into loaves.
Place in loaf pans, sealed edge down. Grease top of loaf. Cover with towl. Let rise until sides reach top of the pan and center is well rounded. 50 - 60 minutes. Test loaf by touching gently at center. If slight indention remains, loaves are ready for baking.
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Bake 25- 30 minutes, until deep golden brown. To test, tap the crust. Loaf should sound hollow.
Remove from pans. Place on wire racks to cool
