Introduction

Oatmeal breakfast bar with banana. Oatmeal breakfast bar with banana.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2cups of old-fashioned oats
    1 cup of skim milk
    1 banana, mashed
    1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce
    1/2 cup of Splenda
    1/2 cup of eggbeaters
    1.5 teaspoons baking powder
    .5 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray an 8x8 baking dish with baking spray.

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir until well mixed.

Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for roughly 45 minutes. Allow to cool completely and cut into 8 equal pieces.

    These are wonderful! I did add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and about 2 Tablespoons mini cinnamon chips because they were for my kids and they will eat anything with chips in them! They are very moist, but not sticky. You can eat these on the go in the car. - 1/18/10

    Take 1: Followed the recipe, replaced 4 egg whites for egg beaters, added a scoop of protein powder. Eggy on the bottom, but delicious.

    Take 2: 3 egg whites, 2 scoops of protein powder. The texture is perfect and the taste is delicious. They ought to be about 150 calories, protein about 10g.

    I made a double batch and froze them. I left just one in the fridge so I only had one readily available to me. I added raisins and cranberries. They're moist and tasty. - 3/20/10
