Introduction

Homemade veggie burgers are tastier and cheaper than store-bought ones, so I make them from scratch with whatever I have on hand. These include lentils, rice, oats, eggs, carrots, and onions. Ingredients

    .5 c dry lentils
    1 packet of Success Brown Rice
    1 c. carrots, chopped
    .67 c. onion, chopped
    2 eggs
    .75 c rolled oats
    .25 t garlic salt
    1.5T Canola Oil
    .25 c breadcrumbs
    4 cloves garlic

Directions

Heat a small saucepan with lentils and three cups of water. Once lentils are nearly done (10 minutes), add in chopped onions, carrots, garlic, garlic salt, and another cup of water. Let simmer. Cook Success rice. Drain all, and let cool. Mix with eggs, crumbs, and oats. Heat a grill pan with half the oil, form patties, and grill. Repeat for a total of eight patties.
