Number of Servings: 10


    1.5 lbs extra lean ground beef, bison, elk, or turkey
    6 cloves garlic, diced
    6 cups of mashed potatoes
    1 tbs thyme
    1 tbs sage
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 10oz package frozen peas and carrots
    1.5 cups sliced mushroom, button, crimini or shitake
    3 tbs whole wheat flour
    2-3 cans low fat, reduced sodium beef broth
    1 tbs onion powder


Brown ground beef over medium high heat. Add garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add flour and stir in. Add broth and stir briskly as it thickens. Continue adding broth until gravy is desired consistency. Add seasonings and simmer. Stir in frozen peas and carrots.

Spray cake pan with cooking spray, then add hamburger gravy mixture. Spoon mashed potatoes over gravy until covered.

Put in oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes until potatoes are browned on top. Let set for 5-10 minutes to set and serve. Makes 10 servings.

    Yumm,y yummy in my tummy!!!
    Will make again.
    I meant to add that I used turkey but traditionally it should be made with left-over lamb roast.
