Introduction

A delicious, moist but low calorie muffin which provides the flax and whole wheat needed in our diet. A delicious, moist but low calorie muffin which provides the flax and whole wheat needed in our diet.

Ingredients

    1/4 C Flax seed 1/2 tsp salt
    3/4 C whole wheat flour 1/2 tsp soda
    3/4 C White flour 1 egg (beaten)
    1/2 C Splenda 1 C applesauce
    2 tsp baking powder 3 TBLS oil
    1/2 C milk 1/2 nuts (optional)

Directions

Blend dry ingredients in a bowl. Combine egg, oil and milk. Add dry ingredients to egg mix until just blended. Fold in apple sauce, dried fruit and nuts. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 18-20 minutes.
