    6 red potatoes, small, unpeeled, quarterd
    8 baby carrots, cut 1/4-inch thick
    1 medium onion, sliced 1/3" thick
    1 Tablespoon brown sugar
    1 Tablespoon dijon mustard
    1 teaspoon caraway seeds
    1 apple, unpeeled, cored, quartered
    15 ounces sauerkraut, 1 can
    1 pound turkey kielbasa, cooked, sliced 1" thick


In a 3 1/2 quart slow cooker, combine potatoes, carrots, onion and apple. In medium bowl, combine brown sugar, mustard and caraway seed. Mix well. Stir in sauerkraut and kielbasa. Spoon this mixture over vegetables in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for at least 8 hours.

  • I like the flavors, but think I will start with raw cabbage next time and add vinegars to this recipe to make my own kraut. The combo of the processed kraut and sausage was a little too sodium rich for me. - 9/11/10

  • Loved it...on my do again list. I accidentally got too big of a can of sauerkraut but I just doubled the "sauce" and it turned out great. - 2/7/10
