Ingredients

    2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    1/2 c. bran cereal
    1 t. baking soda
    1/4 t. baking powder
    1/4 t. ground ginger
    1 1/3 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
    1/4 c. canola oil
    2 apples, cored and chopped

Directions

Mix together dry ingredients in a bowl. In separate bowl, mix together egg, oil, and buttermilk. Stir in to dry ingredients. Add apple, stirring just to mix. Put in greased and floured 9 x 5 loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before turning out of pan.
