Number of Servings: 20


    1.5 cup whole wheat flour
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    3 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp baking soda
    2 tsp sugar
    1 tsp flax seed
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 cup light margarine
    1 cup skim milk


Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in margarine until consistency of fine crumbles. Make a well and add milk, mixing well.

Line cookie sheet with parchment, wax paper, or plastic wrap. Spoon dough in roughly tablespoon-sized dollops on sheet; you should get approximately 20 of them.

Cover dough with another piece of parchment and place in freezer. Once frozen, transfer to an airtight container and return to freezer.

To Bake: Preheat oven to 450F. Place desired number of biscuits on a pre-greased baking sheet and bake 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown. As they're small, keep a close eye on them.

Makes 20 biscuits. I generally serve them with soup or stew, though they're also good with eggs and turkey bacon in the morning. Try experimenting by adding your favourite herbs to the mix.
