Ingredients

    2 Tbs olive oil
    3 cloves minced garlic
    6 fresh plum tomatoes, chopped
    1/2 small head cabbage
    1 quart water
    2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
    1 tsp dried rosemary
    1 1/4 tsp salt
2 cups drained and rinsed canned white beans
    1/4 lb chopped ham

Directions

In a large pot, heat oil over moderately low heat. Add garlic and tomatoes and cook, stirring frequently, 5 minutes.

Add cabbage, water, broth, rosemary, and salt. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, until cabbage is tender, about 20 minutes.

Stir in the beans and simmer until just warmed through, about 3 minutes. Ladle into bowls and sprinkle ham over the top.
