Ingredients

    Spices:
    2 T chili powder
    1/2 T ground cumin
    1 t ground coriander
    1/2 t crushed red pepper flakes
    1 T oregano
    --------------------------
    5 slices bacon, cut in pieces
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1/2 bell pepper (any color)
    5 cloves garlic, pressed
    1 serrano chile, chopped
    -----------------------------
    1.5 lb ground beef
    15 oz can black beans
    15 oz can kidney beans
    14 oz can diced tomatoes
    3 oz tomato paste



Directions

Mix spices in small bowl. Set aside. On stove, brown bacon. Add onion, bell pepper, garlic, chile, and spices. Cook about 10 minutes (until onion and peppers are soft. Add beef, and cook until beef is no longer pink. Add beans tomatoes and tomato paste.

Cover and simmer 2 hours (or bake at 350 for the same, or in a crockpot on low for 8-10 hours).

Serve topped with grated cheese and chopped onions, if you like.
