Ingredients

    1 green pepper, chopped (1 cup)
    1 medium onion, chopped (1 cup)
    1 T olive oil
    1.5 lb ground beef
    1 packet chili seasoning
    1 T cumin
    1-2 T chili powder, to taste (additional to packet)
    1 T black pepper
    1 T crushed red pepper flakes
    1 T garlic powder
    40 oz. can dark red kidney beans, with liquid
    28 oz can diced tomatoes, with liquid
    28 oz. can plain tomato sauce

Directions

Heat oil in large soup pot. Add onion & pepper, saute 3 min to soften. Add ground beef, chili powder, cumin, pepper, garlic powder. Cook until beef is brown, drain off the fat. Add back into pot with remaining ingredients. Stir. Simmer on low 1 hour, stirring ocassionally. Serve with cornbread! Enjoy!
