Introduction
Gluten-free healthy pizza with a sweet potato crust. Slightly high on the calories and carbs, but I have been craving pizza for so long it is an amazing treat for dinner once in a while. The crust is taken from British TV personality Gillian McKeith's recipe. Gluten-free healthy pizza with a sweet potato crust. Ingredients
-
1/2 Sweet Potato
1/2 cup Nearly Normal Gluten Free Flour or gluten-free flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tablespoon Olive oil
2 tablespoons cup water
1/2 cup tomato sauce (with whatever spices preferred)
1/2 Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage
Strips of Green and Yellow Bell Peppers
1/4 cup of broccoli
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
Peel the sweet potato and boil it for 15 minutes until soft. Mash into a bowl. Add the gluten free flour and baking powder, half a tbsp of olive oil and water and mix into a dough. It will be really soft and gooey. Place it in a circular baking pan and spread into a crust. (For me, it is really gooey, but it becomes crust after baking)
Heat and spread tomato sauce on the crust. I use a spoon which helps even out the crust. Then cut up and add whatever veggies and cheese you like! I like broccoli, chicken sausage, peppers, and parmesan cheese.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes. I hope you enjoy!
