Fruit and fiber with your breakfast oatmeal. Fruit and fiber with your breakfast oatmeal.
Number of Servings: 3


    1 Tbsp. Unsalted butter
    2 small apples, cored and diced
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    .5 tsp. cinnamon
    2 cups water
    1 cup old fashioned oats
    1 cup nonfat milk
    1 orange, peeled and chopped
    1/2 cup pecans


3 - 1 1/2 cup servings
Saute apples in butter. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir in water. Bring to a boil. Add oats and wheat germ. Stir and simmer 3 - 5 minutes. Stir in nonfat milk. Add chopped orange and pecans. For those who don't need to watch their calories, more brown sugar and butter can be added at the table. A good winter breakfast.
