Ingredients

par Boiled rice -- 2 cups
Urad dal or Black gram dal -- 1 cup (You can find this in ur near by super markets)
Directions
Rinse rice and dal and soak in water for about 2-3 hours.
Grind mixture in a blender, adding enough water to make paste. Add salt and keep it aside to get sour for 12 hours.
Take idli plates and place a drop of oil in each idli mould and spread it over the entire mould.
Heat 2 cups of water in a large vessel or pressure cooker and place the filled idli plates and cover with lid.
Cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes.
Remove the plates from the vessel and remove the idlis.
(If u do not have idli plates, you can also consume small bowls availalbe in your kitchen for pouring the batter to prepare idlies, just make sure that u can place those bowls in steam for idli to be done and each bowl can be filled with 2-3 tablespoons of batter for making 1 idli).
Serving Size : 4 (makes 12-16 idlies based on the bowl size consumed).
