This is our family favorite pasta recipe. This is our family favorite pasta recipe.
Number of Servings: 4


    1 tbsp olive oil
    6 slices bacon, chopped
    1 onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    28 oz, can crushed tomatoes
    1/4 C. red wine
    1 tsp. freshly milled black pepper
    1-2 tsp. oregano
    4 oz. whole wheat angel hair pasta, cooked according to package instructions
    1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley
    1 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese


In a large pot over medium heat, put 1 tsp olive oil. Add bacon and onion. Cook until onion is transparent and bacon is brown. Add garlic, wine, tomatoes and seasonings. Simmer while cooking pasta.
When pasta is cooked, mix together with the sauce. Serve in a large pasta bowl with parsley sprinkled on top. Pass the freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Makes 4 generous servings.
