Introduction
An easy hearty chili that can double as buritto filling. For the days I want some meat with this chili, I just steam some chicken on the side and add it on top. Makes for a beautiful presentation when topped with strained fat free yogurt (or use sour cream), cilantro and diced avocado! An easy hearty chili that can double as buritto filling. Ingredients
-
Non fat cooking spray of your choice
1 can fire roasted crushed tomato (Muir Glen)
1 can diced tomato
2 cans black beans (I use one can regular and 1 can w/ cumin and chili pepper spices)
1/2 red onion diced
1/2 white onion diced
5 cloves garlic (or to taste)
4 tsp cumin (or to taste)
2 tsp salt
McCormick Spicy Montreal Steak Seasoning to taste
Directions
Makes approximately 6 ~1 cup servings
Spray medium pan with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Add white and red onion and saute for 2 minutes, then add garlic. Saute until onion is soft. Add spices and mix well. Add both cans (undrained) of tomato and both cans (undrained) of black beans. Mix together well and turn heat to medium low. Simmer for about 30 minutes.
Top with diced avocado, cheese or yogurt. I use all three!
