    Butter, salted, 1 tbsp
    Milk, 1%, 1.25 cup
    Applesauce, unsweetened, 0.50 cup
    Raisins, 0.50 cup, packed
    Baking Soda, 1.50 tsp
    Granulated Sugar, 3 tsp
    Maple Syrup, 0.50 tbsp
    Wheat bran, crude, 2 cup
    Whole Wheat Flour, 1.50 cup

Any dried fruit combination can be used, if you omit the fruit you may need to add more applesauce or sugar for sweetness. Mix the ingredients swiftly as overmising will produce a tough muffin.

Preheat oven to 180 Cel/335 Fareneit.

1. Combine flour, sugar, bran, fruit in a bowl.
2. Reserve one tbsp of milk. Combine the rest of the milk with the melted butter, applesauce and syrup.
3. Add to dry mix.
3. Heat the reserved milk in a small pot, when hot add the baking soda mixing as it froths.
4. Add to muffin mix and combine quickly. The mix should be fairly moist (Some additional milk may be required).
5. Spoon into muffin tray and bake for 20 minutes or until muffins are golden brown. Serve hot.
