Ingredients

    2 cups whole wheat flour
    3/4 cup water
    3/4 tsp salt

Directions

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix the whole wheat flour, water, and salt together in a bowl until dough is formed. Knead the dough for a few minutes (until elastic texture is obtained), then divide it equally into 8 pieces. Roll each section into a ball and with a floured rolling pin roll them out into thin circles (thin but not too thin, as you want to make sure that the dough does not have any holes or cracks). Place 2 circles of dough directly on the oven rack and bake for 5 minutes. Repeat for the remaining 6 pieces of dough, baking them 2 at a time.

Makes 8 pita breads. (Each bread is 1 serving.)
