Introduction
Homemade pizza dough Homemade pizza doughNumber of Servings: 24
Ingredients
-
5 cups white flour
2 Cups warm water
2 packages yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
Directions
Makes about 4 medium pizza's 6 slices each
We used to fry the dough in oil but we baked it in the oven to make it healthier. We make this in the mixer using the dough hooks, we used to make it by hand, its faster with the Kitchen Aid mixer.
Sprinkle yeast into warm water stir until dissolved
stir in sugar, salt & oil and 2 cups of flour
beat until smooth, adding more flour as needed to make dough firm, not very sticky.
Take out and kneed the dough on a floured surface until smooth & elastic. place in greased warm bowl, cover with towel & let rise in a warm place for at least an hour.
Punch a fist into the risen dough, flip over then cover and ler it rise again.
Pre-heat oven to 450
We found that a pizza stone makes the crust too hard we used a regular cookie sheet and fit 2 square pizza's on each sheet
ass pizza sauce and cheese to liking
We found regular sauce too watery for baking, we suggest pizza sauce
The sizes vary and portions vary depending on how you make your pizza.
