    3lb kosher corned beef brisket
    1 onion chopped
    8 garlic cloves (whole)
    1 cup diced celery root
    1 parsnip sliced
    4 carrots sliced
    1 med. head cabbage


NOTE due to meat shrinkage when cooked I think 8 portions is more realistic.

Add first 6 ingredients and water to cover in large pot
add whole peppercorns 10-15 of them
2-3 bay leaf
1tsp rosemary
2-3 cloves
1/2 tsp fennel seed

cook meat for 3 hours and then add the cabbage and cook until meat is tender.
Serve with mashed potato or just boiled potato.
